That may also to apply to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devonyc.com\/\">Devon Yacht Club<\/a> of Amagansett, NY. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/article\/devon-yacht-club-infighting-amagansett-hamptons.html\">Intelligencer<\/a>, it all stems from a debate that started over the club&#8217;s plans for renovation, which some members feel it desperately needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, things got pretty tense&#8230;seven longtime members were reportedly &#8216;censured, suspended, and then, in November, expelled.&#8217;  The article goes on to say that the board of governors claims these members were expelled for \u201cdisorderly conduct and endangering the good order, welfare, and character of the Club.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few members of the club that had their memberships removked included &#8216;descendants of the Vicks VapoRub inventor and their respective spouses&#8217; (some who did not against the clubs plans).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now some members that were terminated from the club filed a petition requesting that they be reinstated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Legal has now entered the chat&#8230;because lawsuits reportedly filed by some of the terminated members are asking for reinstatement at the club and $10 million in damages for each complainant.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s going to be a hot one this Summer&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What&#8217;s the saying&#8230;&#8217;You can&#8217;t fight City Hall&#8216;?
