People in the Hamptons always bask in the whale sightings…except when the whale ends up dead on the beach, decomposing, and taking up precious sand for relaxation.
And that’s just what happened to Ditch Plain in Montauk. But thankfully the dead trespassing whale was removed by the next day afternoon, so it wouldn’t ruin anyone’s weekend. People who had been near the whale remarked on its overpowering odor.
However, the humpback’s cause of death remained undetermined, as their is growing debate about how these whales are dying and ending up on shore.
